HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
From a young age, I was surrounded by the arts, music in particular. I was accepted into a special high school for the artistic where I majored in music as a violinist, but I never considered that I could branch out into other realms of expression, that perhaps my enjoyment of doing silly impromptu photo shoots with my friends and my dinosaur of a digital camera could actually become so much more than that.
It wasn't until nearly 10 years later that my photography-savvy husband saw the pictures I was snapping with my little point-and-shoot camera, realized I had potential, and said, "I was trained in this...but you're better than me!"
Believing I had something worth nurturing, he put a REAL camera in my hands, and encouraged me to go for it. The rest, as they say, is history!
WHY I LOVE IT...
Taking a finite moment and immortalizing it into a tangible memory that can be revisited for years to come is why we all love photography-- it's the true magic of it all! I could continue on a long poetic spiel about it, but honestly the biggest reason I love to be behind a camera is that photography is just plain ol' FUN!! How can you beat a job where nature is your office, creativity is your boss, and the final product of your labor is a gift that keeps on giving every time someone sees it hanging up on their wall? There's nothing more rewarding than knowing that doing what makes you happy is also making someone else very happy.
